Let us analyze 4 of the basic characteristics of Lord’s people!
Judah was a ruler.
Judah knew about God and this is an important feature of Jude which is why the race was a ruling race. We can only know about the Lord if we meditate on the words of the Lord (read and meditate on the Bible).
We should not only know about the Lord, but we should understand God’s features inside out. If we are willing to know about the Lord and understand Him, He will come forward to reveal His features to us.
If we do not volunteer to understand the Lord we cannot maintain a good relationship with the Lord.
The name of the Lord is great in Israel
2 Samuel 5:8 – Only when David established God’s name in Jerusalem, He became a powerful king in all of Jerusalem.
We should establish God’s name in our lives so that we have total control of our lives and not the other way. We should not boast on our own talents or positives – if we give all the due credit to the Lord in our lives, God will keep our lives in total control and in peace.
An example of who boasted on His own glory is Nebuchadnezzar. He lost his mind and became equal to animals.
Lord’s tent is in Salem
God dwelt among the people of Salem. We have to keep our lives and our body clean and in favor of Him so that He can come and dwell in us. We have to go by the limits and measures given by the Lord Himself – we should neither fall short nor go overboard. God likes it that way.
Exodus 40: 33,34 – When Moses finished the work with the courtyard, tabernacle and the altar, just as God told him, the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. The cloud had settled upon the tabernacle and filled it.
Zion is chosen by the Lord
Psalms 132:13 – The Lord has chosen Zion. In order to be chosen by the Lord we have to live accordingly. We have to be in a status that proves us good in the eyes of the Lord and makes us chosen.
