Today’s verse for meditation is: 1 John 3:8
If God was manifested in our lives, then the works of the devil would have been destroyed in our lives. There are certain signatures that should appear in our lives if God had manifested. There should be a change in our lives.
We shall see some of those signatures in this sermon. We should look for these signatures in our lives if we believe that God has manifested in our lives.
To remain clothed
Luke 8: 27 – To wear no clothes (or to remain naked) is a devilish act. To remain clothed is a Godly act.
Mark 5:6, 15 – The demon possessed man was clothed (after He was cured).
Genesis 3:7 – Adam and Eve knew that they were naked when their eyes were opened. Actually they were naked when God created them; but both Adam and Eve were covered with God’s glory. When they sinned, they lost God’s glory, and they became naked.
But then again in verse 21, God clothed them with tunics of skin.
If our lives are naked, or if there are things in our lives that God will abominate, then God will not manifest in our lives (or he had not manifested; we only fake our own belief).
There is a great rejoice in the soul of a person who is clothed with the garments of salvation. There is great rejoice and joyfulness when God clothes us.
Job 29:14 – Righteousness should be our cloth, and our justice should be our robe and the turban.
Rev. 3: 17,18
The Church thinks that they are rich, wealthy and that they don’t need anything. But in reality, they are wretched, blessed, poor, blind and naked. To be naked is a shame. To get rid of the nakedness, God commands us to take advantage of the fact that He is ready to cloth us.
God is ready to cover our shame, and anoint our eyes with eye salve. We should make use of His compassion.
Mark 5: 15 – To sit
Before the demon possessed man was cured, no one could bind him even with many chains. There was no peace in his life and he was often bounded by shackles and chains. He was cutting himself with stones, he was crying out. He wasn’t calm or peaceful.
No one can bind him and restore peace in his life.
He was dwelling in the mountains and graveyards where there is no life.
If God manifests in our lives, there should be peace and calmness in our lives. We should be able to enjoy our life with peace.
Gen. 16: 6-10
Hagar fled from the presence of Abram and Sarai. The thought of fleeing from our home is a devilish act. We must remain calm in our own house even if we face problems.
The Angel of the Lord insists Hagar to return to the home of her mistress and submit herself under her mistress’s hand. Then after the Angel of the Lord blesses Hagar that she will bear a child.
This blessing is given to Hagar only after she remains calm in her house (without fleeing here and there).
Isiah 14: 3
Lord will give us rest from our sorrows. God’s deed is to give us rest from our bondage and fears. If we are anxious and restless it is a devilish act.
Heb. 4: 1 God promises that He will lead us to His rest.
To be in our right mind
Mark 5: 15 – To be in our right mind
Daniel 4: 36 If the right (and righteous) mind and our reasoning comes back to us, there will be glory, honor and splendor. On the other hand in verse 33 we see that Nebuchadnezzar was first driven from men when he lost his mind.
He was totally transformed to a form of shame. Again in verse 34 when Nebuchadnezzar lifted his eyes to the heaven and his understanding returned to him. This is because God manifested in his life again.
2 Timothy 1:7 God has given us the Spirit of love and of a sound mind.
Luke 15: 17 – When the younger son came to himself he returned to his father’s home.
Note that the father who received his son with great joy at his house did not go to the place where the son was with pigs. Although the father loved his son he did not seek out his son and go to the place of abomination.
So it is indeed necessary that we leave our sins behind and get back to God so that He manifests in our lives.
2 Corinthians 5: 17 Ezekiel 11: 19 – If Lord had manifested in our life, He would have put His new Spirit into us and will render us a new heart of flesh!
