Let us refer to Psalms 84: 1,3
The author of the Psalms says that God’s tabernacle is so lovely. He also mentions that those who dwell in the House of God are blessed. It is a real blessing to praise and sing the Lord at God’s House (the Church).
God is the one who gives us the necessary strength. We can acquire our strength from the Lord by praising and singing unto Him. Those who get their strength from the Lord are the blessed ones.
Blessed are those whose heart is set on the pilgrimage. Those who think and walk according to Lord’s ways, we will be the blessed ones.
Those who walk in God’s ways, can walk through the valley of Becca and they can turn it into a spring which is a blessing. For ungodly people, the valley of Becca is sorrowful and bitter.
But for God’s people who walk in the God’s ways, the valley of Becca can turn into a spring of joy.
So what is the tabernacle of God?
Exodus: 25: 8,9 – The Lord dwells among His own people. Lord wants us to create His tabernacle according to the pattern He shows us (this is very important). If we create a tabernacle according to our own wish, God won’t be happy to dwell in it.
Only if our heart, our home, our Church and everything else is according to the pattern God gave us and according to His wish, God will come and dwell among us; and our heart/home/Church will become a tabernacle of God where He dwells.
Here is another example of a tabernacle
Deut. 12: 5-7
A place where God chooses and where He wants us to go, and present the offering, and want us to worship and rejoice is also a tabernacle.
This kind of tabernacle is not built by us but God chooses it Himself. So if we want to worship the Lord, present the offerings, hear His word and rejoice in His presence, we need to go to His tabernacle that He chose for us. Not the one we choose according to our own will.
We need to seek out to that tabernacle God chose for us.
Ezekiel 37: 27,28
God mentions that His sanctuary will be among His people. If God has to dwell among us, He puts forth a small crucial condition – He wants us to be our God and we have to be our people.
This means that there has to be an intense relationship between us and our Lord. If this relationship is good, we will be pushed from the inside to worship the Lord, to give to Him and to walk in His ways (without anyone dictating us to do all these).
II Corin. 5: 9
Paul says that, it doesn’t matter whether we are alive or dead (in flesh) we should aim to please the Lord always. Why because, let’s refer to verses 1,2. Even though this flesh of ours get destroyed, we have a building from the Lord in the eternal heavens.
So whether we are dead or alive, if we aim to please the Lord we can easily acquire the build from the heavens which is not built with hands but the one that our dear God is preparing for us.
John 14: 2
Lord says that there are many mansions in Father’s house. And God prepares this mansion for us. Now the Lord says that He will come to us and take us to His tabernacle.
In short, Lord always wants us to be with Him. He either comes and dwells among us or He wants us to seek unto his tabernacle and be with Him.
